Palemale & Lola had some visitors today...
A mob of crows visited the tree right next to his favorite afternoon perching tree near Hamilton Statue. All they wanted was some berries nothing else.

A Cooper's Hawk visited the Model Sailboat Pond this morning.

Later in the evening I saw what may be the same Cooper's over Cleopatra's Needle.

Another sweet little monarch makes his way over Fifth Avenue and heads across to Madison Avenue. I watched him until he disappeared between the Woody Building and the Nest Building. I saw how unimportant his journey was to the folk around and beneath him; money to be made, Real Estate to be bought and sold, stock to be acquired, fancy weddings to be planned. But the little guy gave a flap of his wings here and an updraft pushed him along there and as I continued to watch him I felt like the whole Universe was cheering him along.

Palemale arrived very late in his Turtle Pond tree.

Some fancy leg work and he's off to another tree inside the Great Lawn near the Westside Pinetum.

He appeared to be still hunting well into the dark evening. Goodnight Pal!
