Anne hurried along the path up to where I found Palemale this evening to tell me that he was seen previously taking a bath in Azalea Pond. I did notice his wet belly and thought it strange since the rain had stopped several hours before. I tried to think of all the things I could have done faster so I could have made it to the Ramble in time to see His Majesty taking a bath. Still, I counted my blessings and rejoiced for being lucky enough to catch up with him after work on Friday evening.

Shortly before taking off and flying toward his nest he uttered a series of calls.

If I had a field guide I'd look it up, but I figure someone out there will tell me soon enough.

Palemale coming home to take over nest sitting. Yes, they are still carrying on with their prized duty.

And still there is nothing that I crave more than the opportunity to sit on one end of a bench in the park and watch them live their beautiful lives

It looks like Palemale told her where her dinner is stached and off she went.

Mom (left) is getting an earful from her little baby.

Every time I grab a napkin or paper towel I think of someone like them loosing their home when their tree is chopped down to manufacture these products for me.
