Rain.
Palemale not displaying his most dignified appearance but enjoying the intense rain on Thursday evening.

Palemale reached into the sky and soaked in its most intense raindrops.

It is moments like this I miss shooting film which is more capable of capturing the lightning bolts which were in the sky behind him.

The Sun did tease us for a few seconds at a time in between hard showers.

Just before the rain Palemale perched here is about to do something that I cannot get used to witnessing...he targeted an unattended robin’s nest and devoured all its young.

He is a being that I learn from each day even if it means getting soaked and soggy...

looking at him makes it warm and dry on the inside.

Here is Palemale when the Sun was out just before the thundershowers coasting around the Beresford.

The mockingbird at the MET did not want him around as usual.

Risky, but still possible to capture some moments during the heaviest rain.

When the storm went away all was quiet and a light fog caressed the grounds of the park.

Mom watched over her babies in the quiet evening after the storm. After I took this shot she came over to me for some raw sunflower seeds. She was hardly bothered by anything this evening. Looking into her eyes at times as I crouched low at the edge of the pond I felt like I did see something sacred that amongst so many other things made me happy that I’m alive to watch her swim back to her children and sit quietly with them until the Sun came back up to begin a new day.
