First there were two brave little ones that came up to get a peek at Pale Male through my camera. The next thing you know there was a line of 40 second-graders all anxious to take a look. I didn't think anything of lifting the tiny ones up to take a look through the viewfinder, but after the first dozen or so they seem to get heavier and heavier. One little girl warned me before I lifted her, "Watch out...I'm heavy!" she said. She wasn't kidding, let me tell you. I kept looking at the line; 'Ok, just twenty more...that isn't so bad.' I thought.
The line didn't seem to have an end. I looked back and then I saw what was happening--some of the little stinkers were slipping back in the end of the line. I lifted one little boy up to the eyepiece and there was something about his weight and even more familiar, his hat which I had to turn to the side once again so he could see. I looked at him and there was a devilish grin on his face. "This is my second time." he confessed, with a smile stretching up his tiny face.
"You must really love Pale Male then?" I asked him. The little boy shook his head up and down,
"He's awesome!" he said and then quickly ran to catch up with his friends
