Letter to the NYS DEC Region 2:
email:r2natres@gw.dec.state.ny.us
Dear Sir/Madam:
I received information that there is a coyote in Central Park which is 'at large'. It is rumored that the New York City Parks & Recreation Department is planning to capture and euthanize this animal.
I urge you to intervene and make sure that this animal is treated with the respect that is due to it and all other wild animals.
The NYC Parks & Recreation Department staff are notorious for their incompetence and lack of respect for wild animals. Under their authority a coyote was caught, mishandled and eventually died of a heart attack in March 2006 because of over-handling and unnecessary delays in releasing.
Best,
Lincoln Karim
