June 23 leg band of female RTH read and it is not First Love. Timing reveals it is probably Chocolate who took a quick trip to NJ, was injured, rehabbed, banded and released. June 19 1st fledge

Banded female RTH sighted in Central Park
Mid-September Jerry Domino finds dead RTH, not far from where Mom I was found injured the previous year - not sure when - doesn't report it until he reads Marie's article in The Smithsonian (Dec '95) June 20 2nd fledge

Sept 26 The Imm. RTH banded and released on Sheep Meadow June 3 2nd fledge
5:20 AM - high wind. Found on Fifth Ave at 5:30 PM. Rehabber's instructions followed - taken up to Dr Fisher's and released - seems OK.
Summer Sometime in August Pale Male is seen with very young RTH. She has yellow eyes. Prior to this observation an adult RTH was found dead around 86th Street & Madison. Carcass lost during 9/11/01 disaster. May 23 Pale Male & Lola attempts to build nest on Woody building (left 'H'). The twigs continually gets blown off. June 7 3rd fledge: ~6:00 AM

Pale Male bonds with banded female Sept 28 Female seen preening in nest. Mom I (Chocolate) is now definately dead in NJ but no one knows this. July 3 Fledgling catches a rat - filmed by Frederic Lilien Oct 12 Banded adult RTH found dead at MET with poisoned pigeon in its crop. It is First Love. June 12 3rd fledge 12:31 PM - in pouring rain June 9 Fledgling found on Fifth Ave around 78th Street. Doormen witnessed chick standing on roadway before it was struck by a cab. A second cab killed the struggling bird.
Dec 21 Jerry Domino calls Smithsonian - reads them band # of dead hawk. It's Chocolate. Hawkwatchers don't believe it. Oct 15 Pale Male seen soaring then perching with new female RTH - Blue July 1 Fledgling catches rat June 14 Dead bird taken to Ward Stone for necropsy. Death due to crushed skull and broken ribs/punctured kidney. No poisons found.
