Cyprus

Cyprus my beautiful friend, goodbye.

The love and happiness you brought into our lives will never be forgotten.

You are one of the most loving persons I have ever met in my life. Go to sleep happy and knowing that we all love you.

April 5, 2011:
A few letters for my good friend's dog Cyprus who was gently put to sleep on Tuesday morning. Cyprus was the sister of my little girl dog Lola whom I rescued a few years ago in Central Park.

I am sorry to hear you have lost a friend. I know how hard such times can be and send my kindest thoughts.
Thank you for your beautiful site. It makes every day a little better.

Sincerely,
Catherine

I visit your website frequently. I am sorry for your loss of Cyprus. What a beautiful name! I smile with tears in my eyes as I view her photograph, such a reminder of my shepherd, Roxanne, who I said goodbye to in August. To me, there is nothing that fills my heart more than to witness the obvious love you have for her as is evidenced by her eyes and greying muzzle. It is evident she filled your heart and soul and I am confident you filled hers. Peace to you and to Cyprus.

I am a regular Pale Male fan, and SO enjoy your website. Was Cyrus your pet? And I'm guessing he must've passed. So sad if that is the case, he is a gorgeous and handsome dog. It is never easy to say goodbye to a pet; I have 2 dogs and 5 cats, so I understand your heartbreak. Will keep you and Cyrus in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Lisa Casey

This year has been hard for all of us. I take the opportunity to share the sorrow for the passing of the 3 little ones at riverside park ( storm), then, the disappearance of Lola ( no one is as good as Lola, I really miss her) and of course, now, the passing of Cyprus your best friend! I send you a warm hug but am sure all of them are in a safe place and must know we all loved them well.

Sincerely,
Gabriela K.

I am so sorry for your loss of Cyprus. From the beautiful photos you shared with those of us who have come to treasure and depend upon your ability and willingness to share not only Palemale and Lola and Paula and now Lima, but your own special thoughts and now the loss of your beloved friend, who we will grieve with you. I have lost two beloved furry persons, so I know the pain. I will encourage you to look for Cyprus, not only in your memories and inside your mind and heart and soul, but also in clouds, or whatever of nature that particularly speaks to you.....because if you look, you will see him. Saturday was my dog Comet's anniversary of his birth.....I lost him at only 8 years old in 2006. I sat here in Colorado wishing I were on Nantucket Island, where I imagine his spirit to be, because he so loved that place. But as I watched the sky and the puffy clouds against the bright blue sky of this rarified air at 9,000 feet elevation, where it's still a winter white world, the clouds all became Comet images - not in my imagination, but for real. His face, his smile, his profile, his whole body...... rolling on his back like Cyprus.....it was a miracle, one I have enjoyed several times. I wish you such a privilege, knowing that yours may come in a different form. Stay open, and it is my deepest belief that Cyprus will find SOME way, that you will recognize for sure, to let you know that he is still real, that he is still and always will be with you, only in a different form, that he waits for you to join him.... beyond what we can comprehend, but what he now knows.......bliss. Thank you.... as I have said many times before and I hope you have read, for all that you have done to share your incredible passion for Palemale and his remarkable life. It is one of my greatest blessings. Thank you for sharing Cyprus as well. I hope he is romping with Comet.....Comet was always a zealous greeter, and Cyprus can be assured of a most wonderful welcome to bliss.

Sincerely,
Barbara C. Crested Butte, Colorado

I am so very sorry about the loss of your friend, Cyprus. I too have lost a genuine, loving, honest, giving and true friend. Amazing how some people consider them "just pets" when they have such qualities that we all should strive for. I would have taken my friend Jake over any person I know. My heart goes out to you.

Love, Debbie J.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Cyprus. I hope his passing was tranquil, and that when we all get to that rainbow bridge, we shall be reunited with these creatures that love us unconditionally.

A friend in Vermont
