Palemale spent the entire evening on the Stovepipe Building.

I couldn’t hear the cries from the mockingbirds from way up there but they flitted by him for some time.

He kept his back to the setting Sun until very late.

Then at last he stretched and leaped toward the park and I lost him in the darkness.

I walked over to his sleeping tree and there I easily found an outline tucking in for the night - it was Lola. I quickly searched the neighboring branches and soon found him about four feet away snuggled between the dark leaves.

They were together in their quiet tree and that beautiful image will warm my heart tonight.
